The newsletter we sent out in March 2010 about Mama D’s drew comments from around the country – folks adding their own experiences about the great service and food that they consistently churn out.
Earlier this week I went back after many months and all I can say is WOW.
What reminded me to return to Mama D’s was a great Yelp Deals offer, and since I can pinch a penny with the best of them (and who wouldn’t love $60 of food for $30?) my friend Ray and I headed there for a feast.
Once again Mama does not live up to expectations – she exceeds them.
Case in point: as I have an advancing case of CRS I, of course, left the coupon for the Yelp Deal at home. Now you and I know that at 99.99% of esatblishments they would say, “Oh, so sorry. Bring it in next time you come”. Which would be closely followed by,”My manager said we have to have the coupon”.
Not at Mama D’s.
I looked at our server McCall and told her of my absent minded move and without blinking she says, “No problem, we can look it up. If you have the email on your Blackberry that would help”.
Boom. Problem solved. Zero stress. Back to drinking my One Hope Wine (part of all proceeds go to selected charities/causes)
Want to know how unique their approach to the customer is? Here is their Vision Statement that they have laminated on a card on each table:
An everyday, affordable dining establishment staffed by mainly under 30 somethings (McCall was 23) and they are simply experts at treating customers the right way.
Memorable? I’ll say.
