Are You Willing To Go Over The Top?

IPS Advisor Pro at Schwab IMPACT

Last month was the annual Schwab IMPACT conference and I Carry The Bag, along with 3000 attendees and vendors, was there to see a most impressive display of sponsor muscle.

Each of the 300 display booths was vying for a share of the participant’s eye, ear and future business opportunities. The displays ranged from the most elaborate and immense (think studio apartment size) to the humble six foot table with unimposing signage.

For instance, Scout Funds hired a caricature artist to create digital works of attendee art via computer display – making the final image available on the spot and through a link to a website download.

Since the name of the firm is at the bottom of each image, it wasn’t hard for Scout to leave a memorable impression.

Then there were the folks from IPS Advisor Pro.

“A picture is worth a thousand words,” as the expression goes, and the photo above is worth that and more when it comes to discussing the MQ-Memorability Quotient® of the shrinking violets from IPS.

Of particular note is the video crew from Ignites that is asking IPS questions about their approach to the conference.

So how was it that IPS Advisor Pro was compelled to go over the top and capture share of mind in a display hall filled to the brim with some of the nation’s biggest and best?

Do they have hesitation about this form of marketing to the generally conservative financial services community?

This month we’re taking the newsletter multimedia; please listen to a brief, five minute interview we did with the co-founder of IPS Advisor Pro.
