Sometimes companies just get it.
They know that to stand out in the sea of sameness they need to take creativity to a whole new level. They need to take risks, to inject humor into otherwise serious subjects.
A perfect example of this is yesterday’s full page ad for JetBlue that ran in major newspapers. I don’t know about you but ads in newspapers don’t grab my attention much anymore.
Airline ads grab my attention even less. Until now.
The ad that ran pokes fun at the all the poor executives that need to sell their private jets and start flying commercial:
The site that is referenced at the bottom of the ad leads to a page appealing to the now private jet-less. An excerpt:
We understand it’s not easy being a high flyer these days. The CFO is picking apart your expense reports. Congress is mad about your bonus. And you can’t even hop on a private jet to the Cayman Islands without freaking out the shareholders.
But even this economic cloud has a silver lining… actually more of a bluish lining. Because now you get to try JetBlue.

Jetting on JetBlue is a lot like on your private jet with a few basic differences. Let us walk you through the features.
Thanks JetBlue, your MQ was already high.
It just rocketed up even higher!
UPDATE: Jet Blue has added 3 videos to the fun. Like the ad above the videos are irreverent and memorable.
