Giving Back

by Rob on May 1, 2009

My friend Laurie called today and had a great idea. She thought I should bring a dose of MQ’ness to our colleagues in the financial services community that have been laid off.

She had a great idea.

It inspired this offer that has been posted on the LinkedIn group page for Wholesaler Connect:

Complimentary Networking, Support and Coaching Weekly Conference Call

I’m Rob Shore and for the last 30 years I have been in our financial services industry as a producer (HomeFed Bank), wholesaler (OppenheimerFunds), and manager/senior executive (Allstate Distributors).

For the last 18 months I have been a paid coach, speaker and consultant.

coachingNow it’s time to give back, as we have seen our business change so dramatically.

What:  A FREE conference call.

When:  Every Monday at 9:00 AM Pacific Time. The call will last for 60 minutes.

Why: To receive complementary coaching, encouragement, collegial support and education about:

  • Networking
  • Properly Using Social Media
  • Effective interviewing (I’ve interviewed hundreds of wholesaler candidates)
  • Career counseling
  • Personal brand enhancement

Who:  I’ll be your facilitator. The group assembled on any given Monday will all contribute. Think of it as a free Mastermind Group. The topics covered will be the topics you wish to cover.

Who part II: Wholesalers, Account Managers, Regional Managers, Divisional Managers are all invited to attend

How:  Dial in to 712-775-7000 access code: 1048106# at 9 AM Pacific Time sharp starting this Monday May 4, 2009.

I’ll be on the line for 10 minutes – if folks come we talk. If folks don’t come, no harm.

Feel free to pass this along to those in our business that you feel would benefit from the group’s exchange of information and ideas.

I highly recommend to those that are currently unemployed and seeking opportunities in this tough job market to join Rob on this call. During this call many current topics are discussed and ideas are shared on to approach this challenging time. Whether it is just to help you start your week, or how to differentiate yourself from the vast amount of job seekers, or how to approach networking – this call has suggestions to help you through. In the two calls that I have joined, I have taken away many ways to better manage my job hunting. Make it a point to join the next call on June 1!
